The Complete Programme with James Mangolds A Complete Unknown

The Bob Dylan biopic will be shown as a Berlinale Special Gala. The section will present a total of 21 works, 15 of them world premieres. The programme ranges from star power and popular forms to serious reflection.

CUPRA Becomes a Partner of Berlinale Shorts and Promotes New Talent with CUPRA Filmmaker Award

CUPRA, the new Mobility Partner of Berlinale, is expanding its commitment by partnering with Berlinale Shorts and funding the jointly initiated Berlinale Shorts CUPRA Filmmaker Award, whose winner will be selected by the International Short Film Jury. Starting in 2025, the Berlinale Shorts CUPRA Filmmaker Award will go to an unconventional directorial talent from the competition of the festival’s short film section. The new award is endowed by CUPRA with 20,000 euros.

Live Transmission of the Opening Gala and Screening of the Opening Film in Seven Cities Across Germany

The festival kicks off on February 13 with a full programme: The International Jury will be presented at the Opening Gala and the Honorary Golden Bear will be awarded to Tilda Swinton. The Gala - hosted by Désirée Nosbusch - can also be followed live on the big screen in seven German cities - including a subsequent screening of Das Licht.
